She will reportedly be doing her first solo item number in Priyadarshan's upcoming film Tezz, starring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, and Kangna Ranaut. The film will be a Ratan Jain produced venture. She has earlier appeared in an item number with SRK in Billu.
Priyanka has many sizzling numbers under her belt, including Touch Me Baby from Aitraaz, and unlike her contemporaries, has never been in a hurry to invest in the item frenzy. When Shilpa Shetty was brought in for the Shut up and Bounce item song in Karan Johar's Dostana, she apparently had no issues with it.
Priyanka was previously quoted saying "I have never done one (item number), and I don't think I will be doing one either." However, it looks like the craze has finally caught up to her.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, "She will soon hear the song. Ratan Jain, the producer has spoken to her secretary and Priyanka has shown keen interest in the item song as well." the song that she will be dancing to has been composed by Sajid-Wajid, and will be her first solo item song.
A source also claimed that "Priyanka's dance in Tezz will be as sexy as Malaika Arora Khan's Munni act in Dabangg and Katrina Kaif's Sheila in Tees Maar Khan." To this effect, it has been reported that a special set will be designed to shoot the number, and make it bigger and better than Sheila's and Munni's.
